The capital of Nepal is Kathmandu; which extends from the rich subtropical forests up to the soaring snow-capped Himalayan peaks.     Nagarkot

    Situated 28 km away from the capital city Nagarkot is a village at the edge of the Kathmandu valley. As it is at an elevation of 2000 meters this village offers one of the best views of the Himalayas in the entire region. Nagarkot gives the widest panoramic views of 8 majestic Himalayan Ranges out of 13. The glorious Manaslu, Annapurna, Langtang, Numbur, Jugal, Ganesh, Himal, Rolwaling and Everest ranges are visible from Nagarkot on a clear day. It has natural beauty, serene views, and a peaceful ambiance. It is used as a summer retreat by travelers and it is known for its tranquil nature as the chirping of birds and breeze whistling through the pines can be heard there.

    Patan

    The third largest city of Nepal just behind Kathmandu and Pokhra Patan is located just across the river Bagmati. Currently called Lalitpur, this city contains the Durbar Square that is full of statues, temples, and palaces, and also has the beautiful “Patan museum”. It has a mix of vibrant culture, religion, and traditions and is a traditional center for buying handicrafts, souvenirs, traditional jewelry, and much more.     Janakpur

    Janakpur is believed to be the holy place where Hindu Goddess Sita was born and got married to Lord Ram. Famously called the city of ponds due to it containing over seventy ponds scattered over its verdant landscape. Located in the Terai region of Nepal this city is the administrative headquarters of the Dhanusa district. It has compelling architecture, pleasant weather, and grand and colorful festivities throughout the year. The main attraction in Janakpur is the Ram Janaki Temple and the city pulls in a lot of tourists every year. This city is an amazing visit filled with fascinating attractions and mesmerizing architecture.

    Kathmandu

    Surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan mountains Kathmandu is the capital city and the most visited destination of Nepal. It is filled with scenic beauty, ancient temples, golden pagodas, and natural surroundings. Situated at the meeting point of Bagmati and the Vishnumati rivers Kathmandu is at an elevation of 4344 feet. This city is also known as the Gateway to Nepal and has excellent trekking options, the best blend of traditional and modern culture, and delicious food.     Pokhara

    The second largest city after Kathmandu and the tourist capital of Nepal Pokhara is one of the highest cities. Located at an altitude of more than 900 meters it is a base for many world-famous treks. This city is famous for its Lakeside a boating paradise filled with alluring shops, cafes, restaurants, and pubs. It offers many activities including treks, paragliding, river rafting, and much more to adventure-seeking travelers. This city is home to many historical monuments and breathtaking views of the lush green, golden and silvery shadow of the sun and the moon on the mountains.

    Lumbini

    Lumbini is a gorgeous town nestled in the Himalayas near the Indian border best known as the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Being of such cultural and religious importance people from all around the world come to this town to study scriptures, meditate, practice yoga, trek, and learn more about Buddhism. Lumbini meaning “the lovely” in Sanskrit this town is blessed with ancient stupas and monasteries some of which date back to 2000 years. Trekkers can do the Lumbini Circuit Trek and see 64 historical and archaeological sites including villages for an authentic experience of the local culture and hospitality.
